1,000 Teacher Supply Boxes Delivered Across Michigan to Drive Kindness
Michigan teachers are helping to create a better tomorrow for our children. We remain in awe of the neverending dedication educators bring to classrooms across the state. Without a doubt, teaching is a work of heart.
To show our gratitude, Community Choice team members statewide packed 1,000 supply boxes for teachers in several Michigan school districts. This Drive Kindness effort occurred in conjunction with Community Choice’s Give Big Month in September and October 2022.
Each of the 1,000 supply boxes was filled with a variety of items teachers frequently use in the classroom (along with a few special surprises):
- 75 pencils
- Boxes of tissues
- Sanitizing wipes
- Hand sanitizer bottles
- Expo dry erase markers
- A Community Choice travel mug
- $25 Meijer gift card
“Our educators not only teach fundamental academic skills our kids need to be successful, they’re also mentors, role models and champions for kids’ well-being,” says Jenny Ludwigsen, Vice President of Marketing. “Our teachers embrace the task of helping students prepare for the rest of their lives and consider their role more of a calling than a job.”
Around 200 boxes were delivered directly to teachers in five different public school districts: Clarenceville (Livonia), Jackson, Muskegon, Roseville and Southfield.
